Gabrielle Yablonovich

Gabrielle Yablonovich is a literacy specialist who has worked with over 100 students with dyslexia and reading challenges, using a structured, multisensory approach grounded in the Orton-Gillingham methodology.

She received her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University’s School of Education, where she became dually certified in General Education and Special Education, and later earned her Master’s degree in Language and Literacy from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. She is certified as a General Education Teacher, Special Education Teacher, and Reading Specialist. Gabrielle is also certified as an Orton-Gillingham Associate Practitioner, recognized by the Orton-Gillingham Academy. At The Windward School, a nationally recognized leader in language-based learning disabilities, Gabrielle taught full-time and then held a leadership role overseeing formal assessments, training tutors, and delivering individualized intervention, an experience that deepened her commitment to evidence-based, structured literacy.

She later served as a Learning Specialist at the Pine Crest School, working with students in grades K–5 providing targeted literacy intervention to help struggling learners thrive within an accelerated academic environment.

After relocating to Florida, Gabrielle recognized a critical need for high-quality, research-based literacy support and founded her private practice to bridge that gap. In her practice, Gabrielle conducts informal initial assessments and provides continuous progress monitoring to guide instruction and ensure measurable growth. She designs individualized lessons rooted in data, responsiveness, and a deep belief that with the right approach, every child can become a confident and capable reader.

About Orton-Gillingham

The Orton-Gillingham approach is a structured, research-based method of teaching reading, writing, and spelling. Originally developed by neurologist Dr. Samuel Orton and educator Anna Gillingham, this approach was specifically designed to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Today, it is considered one of the most effective and widely respected methodologies for literacy intervention.

As a certified Orton-Gillingham associate practitioner, Gabrielle has completed specialized training in structured literacy instruction. This certification reflects:

  • Specialized knowledge in structured literacy

  • Practical teaching experience through supervised practicum

  • Commitment to ongoing learning in evidence-based methods

  • Ability to create detailed student profiles to guide instruction

This certification ensures that the instruction is targeted, evidence-based, intentional, and measurable, helping students make real, lasting progress.
