The Process

Consultation

During the consultation, Gabrielle speaks with parents or guardians to learn about their child’s history, learning experiences, and specific needs. She reviews relevant records to determine if her approach is the right fit and lays the foundation for an effective, individualized plan.

Initial Assessment

During a student’s initial session, a thorough assessment will be conducted to evaluate key literacy skills, including reading (decoding), spelling (encoding), phonological awareness, written expression, comprehension, and reading fluency. The information gathered will be instrumental in developing a customized learning plan suited specifically to the child’s strengths and challenges. This service does not include any medical or diagnostic conclusions.

1-1 Reading Intervention

After the assessment, Gabrielle prepares a detailed summary report that guides instruction and outlines targeted objectives. This ensures that each session is tailored to the student’s specific strengths and areas for growth. Throughout the tutoring process, periodic reports and updates will be provided to keep the family informed of the child’s progress and growth. Session durations are flexible, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes based on the child’s individual needs and developmental stage. To maximize effectiveness and support steady advancement, at least two sessions per week is required.

On-Going Process Report

Gabrielle continuously administers assessments to monitor progress and inform targeted literacy instruction. These assessments are designed solely to collect information that enhances teaching methods and build a detailed profile of a child’s literacy skills.
